Chapter 2: From here on…
MC: Ah! I feel like I’m finally getting used to everything around here.
Moulin Rouge: You’ve really grown a lot compared to when you first started learning how to carry a tray.
Jack Rose: Even when you talk to customers, you’ve learned how to keep your cool.
White Lady: Maybe it would be best if you learn from what she’s doing Jack Rose.
Jack Rose: …I have no response to that
Tom Collins: So do you think you’re ready to learn how to make cocktails now?
MC: I’ve been watching everyone make them, but it seems so difficult. Ah! Grandpa! What are you doing here?
Grandpa: This has been your first job in awhile, so I just thought I should come and check in.
Tom Collins: She’s working hard every day. She even helps us create the shifts for everyone.
Grandpa: I’m relieved to hear that. You really are doing your best.
MC: eheheh, it’s thanks to everyone really.
Grandpa: I see. Everyone is so kind. Do you think you could perhaps make me a drink?
MC: Huh? But I’ve never made a cocktail before..
Tom Collins: We were just talking about teaching you how to make them. I think it would be great if the Master was the one who would try your first drink.
Moulin Rouge: You’ve also been studying various cocktail recipes in secret in your room, haven’t you?
MC: How did you know that…?
Grandpa: Well, could I ask for a Godfather? Master.
MC: (Let’s see, a Godfather is a sweet cocktail made with amaretto, right?)
Okay, here you are. One Godfather.
Grandpa: I’m sorry to tell you this, but this is a French Connection
Jack Rose: So close. A Godfather is made with whiskey. A French Connection is made with brandy.
White Lady: Aside from that, if you don’t measure everything properly, you’ll end up with a really sweet French connection. I mean, while I like sweet drinks like that, that shouldn’t be the way you make them.
MC: I’m gonna go crawl into a hole now…
Moulin Rouge: Don’t worry about it. You’re going to make mistakes your first time. I’ll be sure to pay extra attention to detail when I teach you.
Tom Collins: That’s exactly how you should behave when you take a customer’s order, but you should learn how to make the cocktails one at a time.
White Lady: A bar master who can’t make cocktails.. Strange, don’t you think?
Moulin Rouge: You’ll be at the bar while learn the remainder of the recipes. Since you’ll learn firsthand how to make them with different techniques, we can continue practicing from here. Okay, so take your dominant hand and put it on top… right on the lid. And when you hold it down, hold the shaker tight with your middle finger and ring finger. Then you turn it upside down with the middle finger of your opposite hand, and you push the inside strainer with your thumb.
MC: My finger’s cramping!
Moulin Rouge: Ah, right… you have small hands. Here, this is a bit off.
MC: Oh, I see now! …Everyone here sure is tall..Only me, Caipirinha, and Caipiroska need to use a stool.
White Lady: Next time, we’ll buy a shaker that you can use. Your hands are even smaller than mine.
Jack Rose: Yeah, you don’t have to strain yourself when shaking it. If you hit the customer with that thing, we’ll all be in trouble.
White Lady: Why do you have to bring THAT up again?
Jack Rose: Ah..sorry. I didn’t plan on it.
Tom Collins: That also happened too, huh? I guess it looks like we all should practice together.
Grandpa: Well, I can’t say it’s perfect, but let’s make some good drinks that you can deliver out to the customers. I’ll give you a test next time. Please, let me try another one of your cocktails again.
Oh, it seems like you have a customer. Please let me drink another one of your delicious cocktails.
Moulin Rouge: Leave it to me. I’ll give you some private lessons.
White Lady: Be sure to learn all the recipes
MC: I’ll do my best
