Chapter 7: Original
MC: (I’m going to start making my own original cocktail, but I really don’t know what to start with…) Hey, do you all have your own original cocktails? If you do, is it okay if I ask how you made them?
Pink Lady: We don’t have any original cocktails, but how about you start with a theme? For example, if you decide on the theme “Paradise Pink,” then that would mean the color of your cocktail is going to be pink, right?
MC: Yeah.
Pink Lady: However, because you want an accent on it, the ice you put in should be crushed, and it’ll… look cute
MC: So you’re saying I should associate everything with the image then. Moulin Rouge, do you have something to add?
Moulin Rouge: Hmm, I usually just make things that fit to the customers’ tastes. I go by the cocktails their order and their likes, but I also refer to their perfume, and the color of the clothes they wear.
MC: And that’s a way of associating the drink to the image of the person drinking it.
Moulin Rouge: There are many things you’ve experienced, so I think you understand what I mean.
Gimlet: As for the cocktail, don’t you think you should properly measure everything?
MC: I should look at the customer and what’s around them and then give them the drink they ordered… right?
Gimlet: Right. The thing about cocktails is that even though there is a recipe for them, there are many chances to change them as you like.
MC: Hmm.
*door opening*
Gin Fizz: We closed our bar.
MC: Good job today!
Alaska: We came to let you know about our profits and to see your original cocktail. How’s it going?
Pink Lady: She’s still in the process
Alaska: Oh, you’re helping her out too…
MC: (Huh? Does Alaska still believe that Pink Lady is a girl? I thought he would realize it once we all started living together, but maybe it’s best if I let him know now…)
Gin Fizz: Hey, you listening?
MC: S-sorry! Once more, please.
Gin Fizz: I asked if you were lost in your own thoughts again.
MC: Well, that’s true but, I’m listening to everyone, but I don’t know what I should do…
Adonis: It’s alright. If I’m with you, then it doesn’t matter how deep our worries grow, because I’m prepared to fail with you.
Pink Lady: Please don’t tell her anything that’s not going to lift her spirits.
Gin Fizz: You’re appearing as a representative for this bar, right? So then what about making a cocktail that represents the image of this bar.
MC: A cocktail that represents the image of this bar?
Moulin Rouge: Hey, that’s an excellent point. What do you think? Can you do it?
MC: Hm…. I’ll try making a cocktail that represents the image of this bar using a theme like Pink Lady said.
Adonis: Fufufu, together you and I can create a legend of this place and make it into paradise… You’ll definitely be able to make a wonderful cocktail… fufufu
Moulin Rouge: Shall we practice while you focus on the image you want to make?
MC: (I inherited this bar from my grandpa… Gorgeous? At home? Both of those don’t seem quite right) If I decide on a word, should it be something simple, but refined? Maybe I’ll make the color blue
Alaska: The lighting in this place is also a beautiful blue color.
MC: But that makes it seem cold… (Everyone’s working as a bartender so..)
Pink Lady: You know you’re standing there with your mouth open, right?
MC: Yeah, the light bulb just came on. I want to make a cocktail with a gradation from green to blue.
Gimlet: That sounds like it could be a really pretty cocktail. How about making it in a shaker?
Gin Fizz: If you’re going to show it in front of customers, then performance is also going to be important.
Moulin Rouge: You can shake for the base, and for the gradation, I think you should drip the liquor into it.
MC: …I feel like I can make this.
Pink Lady: Let’s get to it!
*tap*
MC: …What do you think?
Gimlet: Hm, this rum base isn’t bad. I think I like it.
Pink Lady: But this reminds me of a Blue Hawaii.
Gin Fizz: It’ll be good even if you use a vodka base.
Moulin Rouge: Maybe we should try playing around with a Japanese sake base like in a Sky blue?
Alaska: …As for me, I’m a little concerned about the way you use the shaker.
Pink Lady: Ah… But she’s doing it so well like this
MC: What’s wrong with it?
Alaska: There’s nothing wrong with it, but I think it can be better. Perhaps you know about how even the way you use the shaker can change the flavor and color of the cocktail?
MC: Yeah, I heard a little about that when I was studying before.
Gin Fizz: Don’t you think we should let her gave some experience right about now?
*shake shake*
Gin Fizz: Tsk, why me?
Adonis: If it’s for her, leave it to me
Gimlet: …something like this?
MC: (I can understand clearly when they line up like this in front of me… The way they use the shaker is completely different between the three of them.)
Pink Lady: Gin Fizz really knows how to use the shaker so bold and lively, huh?
MC: The way Adonis shakes is so gentle. Or maybe I should say it’s really delicate.
Alaska: Gimlet really knows how to use his poses, so I’m having fun just looking at him.
*tap*
MC: Wah! The flavors and colors really are different!? Even though they all used the same amount…
Gimlet: It’s really interesting to see the differences as a bartender
Pink Lady: Alright, now go ahead and taste each one a bit.
MC: Okay
*gulp gulp*
MC: (Ah, delicious. Even the smell of their cocktails lingers in my nose more than the ones I make.)
Gimlet: Is there one you like the best?
MC: They’re all so delicious, but none of them seem to be the one…
I’m sorry, you all helped me so much but…
Adonis: What are you saying? I’ll always help you, again and again. I’ll be with you until I can convince you of it.
Moulin Rouge: Well, we still have time. There’s no need to rush, so let’s keep on searching for a cocktail for you.
MC: Thank you
