Chapter 1: A hole that cannot be filled

A few days later

MC: Martini isn’t coming, is he?

Tom Collins: I’m sorry.. Even though we had just gotten the bar running again.

MC: You don’t have to apologize, Tom Collins. I just couldn’t decide between the two of you.

Tom Collins: I thought it was our job to provide the customers with a comfortable space. Our profits were also important, but that was all I ever thought about. Maybe that’s why we couldn’t serve our customers perfectly.

Moulin Rouge: I thought that it was okay to not be so formal when serving our customers. I wanted to see our customers smile. Especially those days when I could see all those princesses smiling gave me the energy I needed.

Emerald Mist: You are going to be teased and called “hosts” when you guys say things like that.

Moulin Rouge: I guess even if we say that all we wanted was to make everyone smile, we’d have to learn to hold ourselves back.

Emerald Mist: If you stop dressing yourselves with such a frivolous atmosphere, wouldn’t it be better, more or less?

Moulin Rouge: Sorry. But even if I wanted to get rid of the aura of this rose, I couldn't. Maybe this is the sin of my own existence.

Emerald Mist: ......You’re joking, right? It’s hard trying to decide which of you is wrong this time.

MC: You think so too, Emerald Mist?

Emerald Mist: Yes, because both sides are vital factors in order to continue the business. Tom Collin’s idea of assuring we can get regular customers and Martini’s idea of charging customers and turnover rates... Our bar can’t consist of only new customers. It’s important for us to extend the length of time we conduct business with our regular customers. However, charging customers and turnover rates are also tied to profit. It’s important that we think about our profits in order to keep the bar running. If we lean too much to one side, then it would spell trouble for business.

Tom Collins: ...My ears hurt

MC: Both sides are important... What do we do now?

Emerald Mist: The only one who can decide is you. Somehow or another, you have been recognized as Master.

Moulin Rouge: What are you saying? Even though you were waiting for your own chance...

Emerald Mist: Don’t say such stupid things! This is a good chance, so I’m only urging her to have some awareness of what it’s like to be a master.

Moulin Rouge: Haha, it’s alright for you to do something like that this time. But really, I am sorry.

Tom Collins: At the very least, allow us to take over for Martini’s shifts.

MC: I’m fine, really. But if the two of you work that much, you won’t have any time to rest.

Moulin Rouge: It’s okay. We’re tough, after all. Whether it’s day or not, if it’s for you... We’ll handle it.

Tom Collins: For you not to be shaken up by this... I respect you.

Emerald Mist: If only that gives you strength, will you work until you have reached your limit?

Moulin Rouge: Isn’t that a bit harsh?

Emerald Mist: At any rate, since you’ll be willing to do anything now, go and try to persuade that tyrant to come back.

MC: Thank you for everything. I’ll say something to Martini.
