Chapter 4: Questions and Preparations
Tom Collins: There you have it! This is how things are run at this business.
MC: …..I’m confused.
Tom Collins: I told you this before, but I don’t mind if you can’t remember everything. I think it’s best if you learn everything while you’re working. Right now, as long as you can understand that this is the type of things we do here, you’re fine.
MC: Thank you, Tom Collins. When I get home, I’ll read my notes again and again.
Tom Collins: If there’s anything you don’t understand, please ask me. Of course, you can go ahead and ask the others as well. They won’t mind. Everyone here is happy to assist you.
MC: (assist me… I really wonder if I can do this)
???: Tom Collins, are we really opening the bar again?
???: huh??? Finally! Master has decided on opening up again!
MC: Great, even more people I don’t know
Tom Collins: Yes, we are really opening the bar back up, but it’s not the master who will be doing it. I’ll introduce you. This is the master’s granddaughter. She’s the new bar master, and she will be reopening the bar.
???: ……
???:……
MC: N – Nice to meet you both.
Emerald Mist: My name is Emerald Mist.
Martini: …Martini.
Emerald Mist: Tom Collins, what is the meaning of this? This little girl is going to be the new bar master?
Martini: Hey, you. I’m talking to you.
MC: Me?
Martini: Answer this. Which gin do you use in a martini? Is it stirred or shaken?
MC: Huh? Gin? It’s…stirred? No, shaken?
Martini: How about a Vermouth? How do you prepare it? Do you like it dry or white?
MC: (What’s with this conversation all of a sudden?)
Martini: Tsk, you don’t fucking know anything do you? This is the kind of person who’s going to be our new bar master? This isn’t the type of bar I thought I would be working for.
Emerald Mist: Why did you decide for her to be the new master? Shouldn’t you give us some sort of explanation for this?
Tom Collins: You knew this is who the master had in mind for the job.
Emerald Mist: That isn’t an answer.
Martini: I don’t agree with this.
MC: Ah
Martini: Hey, even though you were the one who wanted to know all the details about this, you didn’t have a single objection to the idea? No criticism?
MC: I…
Tom Collins: Will the two of you stop your complaining. I was only told she would be the new master just today.
Emerald Mist: You probably agreed to her becoming the new bar master, didn’t you? If that’s what happened, then you must be the one to take responsibility for it. It’s just like Martini said. You were keeping silent about this entire thing. You used to be so considerate before. I’m going home.
Martini: I’m leaving too. And to think I was looking forward to coming back.
MC: (Emerald Mist and Martini thought my grandpa was going to be the one to reopen the place. I didn’t understand anything about what he was asking me earlier.) Am I ready to be the new bar master? Those were some pretty harsh words.
Tom Collins: Keep your chin up.
